The news took the Pakistani mobile users as a surprise that Warid is not taking part in the 3G/4G spectrum auction. Well it was true that they were not interested in any of the race with other cellular service providers.
But they were interested in bringing 4GLTE (Long Term Evolution)
PTA(PAKISTAN TELECOMMUNICATION AUTHORITY) insists on permission for the introduction of the new service.
All the other cell phone service providers have serious reservations against this because they spend money and time for this bidding activity in which Warid didnot took part.
As Zong paid the most of the 1.12 billion dollars so they are the most effected by this. Warid's network is ready to launch within weeks the desired 4G LTE as soon as they get permission from PTA. But it will take ZONG around a month to jumpstart their service in the major cities of the country
